**Q: How does this media compare with the original savio compact skimmer media?  is flow rate similar?  coarser or finer?**
A: Never used the compact skimmer media. But, This material has work great for me in my pond filter box.

**Q: Can it be used in a bog filter under River rock?**
A: I think it will work for a bog filter. Prior to my waterfall this was similar to a filter that I used.

**Q: Does this product float or sink when placed in water?**
A: The answer is that they float.  I but this plus the blue/white filter mat and they float without anchors.  When heavy with algae, the sink.  I have found pieces of them in the filter.  They break apart decompose over time.

**Q: Is this filter rigid enough to cut a sheet and slide flat into our filter holder?**
A: Yes. I found it a bit more rigid than the pre-cut pads purchased from the commercial hardware store.
