Don't tamp the coffee in your pods like you would an espresso basket, or you won't get good water penetration when brewing. It takes a little while to hit the perfect grind and tamping pressure, but when you do it's a beautiful thing. My pods work exactly like store bought, but taste many times better as I'm using my own fresh custom roast. Many of the store bought pods have been sitting around on shelves for too long and have a rancid smell. Not mine...not now!
