## Description

desertcart.com Ironclad has given hands a new lease with their high-tech approach to glove design. Ironclad gloves are made to protect workers' hands better than other work gloves, without feeling clumsy the way so many work gloves can. The first thing we noticed about these gloves is that they're tailored to fit the natural curve hands have in a resting position, rather than being cut straight, so when the hand isn't working, it can actually relax without the glove pulling the fingers in an uncomfortable direction. The palm of this general-utility glove is made of Amara, a synthetic material that mimics the resilience, grip, and comfort of suede while remaining machine-washable and resistant to water damage. High-wear areas are reinforced with tough DuraClad fabric, making these the toughest-grip gloves we've ever worn. The fingertips are also reinforced, yet we had no problem with dexterous tasks like picking up coins. We also like the cut of the cuff on these gloves. It comes in tight to the wrist to prevent dirt or other materials from pouring in. Why so many other gloves have gaping cuff designs is a mystery. While the gloves themselves won't be damaged by water, they won't keep your hands dry for long if you're working in really wet conditions. But that can be said of most work gloves, and everything considered, Ironclad gloves are some of the toughest, most comfortable, and easiest-to-work-in gloves we've tried. --Brian Trinen Product Description Ironclad Heavy Utility Work Gloves HUG, High Abrasion Resistance, Performance Fit, Durable, Machine Washable, (1 Pair), LARGE, Black & Grey From the Manufacturer Ironclad's Heavy Utility HUG-04-L is extra durable and is rugged. Our most popular glove has been updated and made even better. A long wearing, tough utility glove with amazing tactile feel and dexterity. Now with additional knuckle protection and reinforced palm areas that are stronger and more flexible than ever, this is one tough glove. Not to mention, they are completely washable, just like every other Ironclad glove. For best results machine wash and hang dry. Ideal for construction, material hadling, demolition, landscaping, forestry, handling lumber, and cable & wire work.

Review: My New Favorite Gloves and That Means Something - These Ironclad Heavys are my new favorite gloves. I'm very picky, so this says a lot. I used to like the Mechanix Impact gloves, but they changed the design long ago to one that was essentially designed to fail at the area near the base of the thumb. I loved those gloves, and was very disappointed at the short life. I continued to wear what I had for the years following until I was desperate for replacement. Fast Forward to a few months ago, my last pair of M gloves were just done in. I had to get some new ones. I ordered a couple of different gloves from CLC and this pair from Ironclad, and have been wearing them for various general use and work projects. The standouts of the bunch are these Heavy Utility Gloves from Ironclad. The CLC gloves are okay, but these Ironclads seem better thought out with fit and design placement of abrasion materials in the palm and fingers. I love the use of synthetics in the build, making them extremely durable and washable, compared to leather and suede. I think suede in wear/stress areas in work gloves is a huge mistake. Suede seems to wear poorly, and tears like paper. Also, with the Ironclads being synthetic, I just toss 'em into the washer with the work clothes, put 'em on wet, make a fist a few times, push on to fingers/webbing to shape/stretch/conform, take off by the fingertips, and hang to dry. These things are amazingly comfortable, though do take a little time to break in. They offer pretty good dexterity for a "heavy duty" work glove. They get more comfortable with every use. I look forward to my jobs for the opportunity to wear my gloves. They offer refinement of the process, same as the pleasure of working with quality tools. Working with rough cut lumber and other potentially hand damaging materials with confidence, no worries for splinters or pinches. Great help against fatigue. Ordering a couple pair as backups. Ironclad is my go-to from now on for work gloves. Long may the quality continue!
Review: If it does not fit, you must acquit. I could not help myself. - Okay, first time using Ironclad gloves. This is for warehouse receiving, truck unloading, merchandise sorting, handling nasty sprintered wood pallets and all sorts of chinese made crap. In the past I've used Mechanix and Husky from Home Depot. Husky gloves are not designed to handle this type of work. Mechanix fit well, and seem to last a reasonable amount of time. Decided to try Ironclad because reviews state they outlast Mechanix. Wore these gloves for the first time last night. First impression... very stiff and possibly too tight. Could barely pick up a pencil and hold it properly to write on a manifest. Also- Some sort of sharp seam, inside near the base of the index finger where multiple pieces of material come together. Noticed it in both gloves and was not pleased. Decided to give these a chance, break them in and see how they felt. I'm happy to report after 4 hours of truck unload, they gloves had already started to "break in" and feel really comfortable. After 8 hours I could handle a pencil much better and the sharp seams and stiff leather were supple and not an issue. I should state, these gloves appear to be well made. Lot's of reinforced leather or synthetic leather at key contact points on the palms and fingers. Certain amount of knuckle protection (TPC) and breathable material on the backs of the fingers. These appear to be serious work gloves. I will update this review as the weeks go by , I'm hoping to get a few good months out of these.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are they good for working with chain saws and fire wood activities**
A: These r perfect for hard use work like that. But the teary cloth above the thumb will get all those small splinters in them so forget about using it to wipe your sweat off your face. Other than that I dont see why you couldn't use these for that type of labor. I use them for carpentry moving concrete and carrying precut lumber to my stove. Never ran a chain saw with them for a long time.

**Q: Are these suitable for warehouse selection?**
A: I've been working select support in a food distribution warehouse. For the first year I kept trying different gloves and these are the best out of the dozens of brands and types of glove. Even so, I only get a few weeks maybe a month of work out of them before they start splitting at the seems (much better than the days to a week that I've gotten out of every other glove). Personally, if I was a selector instead of support, I would use the ironclad box handling gloves.
I tried those too. They were the best gloves I tried for picking up cardboard, plastic, and angle boards. They just didn't hold up for long picking up pallets.

**Q: Will these work with touchscreens?**
A: Unfortunately no. To heavy of a glove for a touchscreen. Great for landscaping

**Q: How do they fair with chemicals? Specifically industrial bleach**
A: Hi and thank you for your question. The HUG is not a chemical glove and bleach would negatively affect the glove. Try the MKC5 that Amazon sells. Not as much dexterity, but it holds up well to bleach.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A REALLY good work glove!
*by P***. on March 31, 2023*

The Ironclad Heavy Utility Work Glove (HUG), are VERY solid work gloves, especially for what I do (gardening). I think they are better than the other work gloves I've bought in the past from Ironclad (The ranchworx RWG2), which, maybe because of the work that I do, seem to fray and wear out quicker than the HUG utility gloves. It took a little time for me to get a little comfortable with them, they sort of felt stiff on my hands to start, but after a while, they start to relax and flex better. There (so far), are no problems with abrasion OR fraying of stitching, the velcro clasps across the wrists that act as straps to keep the gloves in place do the trick, although they can be a little tricky to unclasp when they are BRAND new, but, after a short time with usage, they will be able to clasp/un-clasp with more speed. They are also washable, and when they come out of the laundry, they look brand new. All in all, a very good pair of work gloves (they also have, on the back of each thumb, a terry cloth sweat wipe). Made in Indonesia, for some additional information for you. Hope this review was helpful to all!
