Needed to hold papers 3 cms depth.** A: I just measured by ruler and you can open it to 3cm width but you are getting very close to the opening limit of the clamp . The clamp is very strong and the wider you open it also the more risk you have in injuring yourself because it's slippery , sharp edges and corners. Use less paper thickness, like 2cm stack and you will be ok, or explicitly use something that you can safely handle.
