The glass lens is nicely protected between two soft felt lining which in turn is covered in leather. The magnifying glass and case are small enough for me to place in the watch pocket of my blue jeans. The magnifying glass while in the case in approximately 1/2 inch thick. The diameter is 2 3/16 x 3 inches at its widest point (rivet side). I’ve purchased three other small so-called pocket Magnifying Glasses, only to discover upon delivery I would need a very large pocket! There was NO WAY any of them could be placed in my pocket without producing a very large uncomfortable bulge!This Magnifying Glass is super slim, protected, and with a 2 inch glass lens at 10 x magnifications makes it large and powerful enough to see the very small print on the back of those pesky bottles with the how to use direction which no one can read much less see without the use of a magnifying glass!
