These should help avoid tears. The magnets at the bottom that both weight the curtain (if you don't have cast iron tub) or stick the bottom of the curtain to a cast iron tub. This prevents the air currents of the shower from lifting the curtain onto you. Thus much nicer than the basic curtains found in the big box stores. The frosted transparent material permits a lot more light to enter the shower, compared to solid colors. One of the two curtains in the pack had a defect where the hanging strip wasn't heat welded to the curtain properly. It was promptly replaced after contacting the vendor.
