My Ascher bike lights have lasted years; the straps do eventually break or wear out from constantly doing and undoing them. It's wonderful to be able to keep using the lights and simply replace the strap. They are stiff at first but become more flexible with a few uses. I'm not sure if they work for other bike lights, I think they could as long as there is a clip for them to loop onto. The strap stretches to fit around my mountain bike handle near the stem in front, and just under my seat on the seat tube in back. I suspect this type of mounting strap will stretch out or break over time, so I purchased these to have replacements on hand. As another reviewer pointed out, these straps are made of a shiny rubber, whereas the mounting straps that came with my Akale bike lights have a matte-like finish. That makes no difference to me and I can't imagine it affects performance. Because I bought these as backups, I have not had occasion to use them yet.
