Glad I took a chance. *by M***V on December 26, 2018* I absolutely love this filament. I'm making some book-ends of a symbol from the Mistborn trilogy, and wanted to make them out of wood filament to give them a "richer" look and have them match my bookshelf. I shopped around and all the usual suspects (colorfabb, MG, hatchbox, etc.) were all out of stock everywhere, so I backordered some of them and then took a shot and ordered this one. Boy am I glad I did.I've included a bunch of photos. One of the printing, two fresh off the printer, two of them sanded, a few stained, some stained with poly, some side by sides, etc. In one of the flat prints, there was some under-extrusion, which actually seems to have made a cool wood-grain type pattern in it.I used the wood.py python script with Cura to slice this in a way that modulated the temp range (200-230) to give some 'banding' to simulate wood grain. That said, with the underextrusion, I think the recommended print settings were a bit low, and I bumped it up a few degrees to 210-240. This seems to have resulted in a much more consistent print--but my all-metal hotend, printing with a .8mm nozzle, tends to need to run a bit warmer than recommended, so your mileage may vary.The filament printed a little bit stringy, but I think that's expected with this sort of thing. It sanded well, and took stain MUCH better than I expected. I used a gel stain, and originally left it on for longer than recommended, but after trying some wiping it off after 3 minutes (recommended), I think that's more than enough. I actually want to go pick up a lighter stain to see if I can bring out some the banding a bit better.tl;dr, it prints well, first layer adhesion is almost too good, it sands well, it takes stain well, and it works with the python script for banding in the print. I'll probably cancel my backorder for hatchbox and order another spool of this stuff. I'm SUPER pleased. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Screaming Yellow! *by D***D on February 12, 2025* I got the florescent yellow. My favorite color is "bright" and this certainly fits the bill! And yes, it fluoresces under the blacklight. It also prints really really well, better than most "premium" brands. Nice smooth walls, sharp corners, no stringing, no blobs or anomalies! And that's without doing any filament-specific calibration! Pic of the first 2 things I printed, straight-outta-the-box, under the blacklight. (Note: The black is stringy, but the yellow isn't) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The plastic spool feels too heavy duty, but the filament is very nice. *by T***R on April 6, 2025* I found this film worked really well with both my Ender 3 version 2 and my Bambu Labs Carbon X1 printer. The spool lasted a long time, and I got a lot of good prints out of it. The color of the PLA is really nice, and the plastic didn't warp when it came out of the nozzle, even though my workspace was pretty damp and humid. I will take off one star because the spool doesn't fit on the metal holder at the back of my X1 Carbon printer, but it does work with the AMS system.
