So on this subject, I am well versed.First, the fabric- the fabric is a good weight, linen-type texture and has no odor. The covers close with a hidden zipper. Out of the package, there are creases from being folded but those disappeared when the pillow was added. One thing that was funky...(see first picture) the fabric is stuck together on the inside. I carefully pulled it apart with no issues, however, you will need to push your hand out to the edges to release it. Otherwise, some of your edges will look hemmed and some won't. (See pictures) Once put together, its a very attractive pillow. The color is "mustard yellow" and is perfect!
