Doubt displacement method would be effective here!** A: The large size one has a triangular cross sectional profile and will sit on the base of a pan, but so far I have found them all airtight. You can seal, then open one corner and squeeze out the air, then pop it back together and it should remain airtight, but I haven’t tried sous vide cooking in one of these yet, so I can’t say for sure. **Q: Will steriliser solution damage the bag?** A: Thanks for the question. I’m afraid I don’t know the answer but if you visit Stasher’s website you will be able to get in touch with them directly. **Q: Can you marinate meat in these?** A: Answer: Most definitely yes. You can leave over night in the bag in a fridge to marinate. I leave meat at least 6 hours. Your bag of marinated food can then go directly from the fridge, into the oven to cook. I know you haven't asked, but a simple quick tip to make cleaning easier - turn the bag inside out. **Q: Can these replace a lunch box to take to work? Cooked meals** A: Short answer is yes. I wouldn't put liquid in it. It's fine to store soup or sauce in the fridge but it can burst open in the bag.
