There are two problems, however. There are no half , which of course can make the shoe tighter or looser than normal. I am an 8.5 and I got the 40. These are a bit big. I am a 39.5 in Europe, and I know the 39 will be small. The material is a bit stiff, so there is a good possibility of getting blisters if the bigger shoe will not be snug. Also, the shoes are a bit heavy and make you quite tall. If you can get a good fit and are used to a higher heel, I think you might find these espadrilles to be a good lasting value. ### ⭐⭐ very painful *by R***O on Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2016* I wear a 9.5 and ordered a 41 (normally I'm a 40.5 in Europen sizes) and they're a little too big so I'm going to have to exchange them. The heel is low but I wouldn't say that they're soft in the sole, they still hurt the ball of my foot more than even 4in stilettos. They also gave me crazy blisters all around my entire foot, both feet and they're not even tight. I think it's because canvas rubbing is rougher than leather. I also wish they were a little more pointed, they're too round. Look like decent quality, and they're cute but I had to return them due to how painful they are. ### ⭐⭐ True to size but not comfortable *by R***I on Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2017* Beautiful shoes and true to size (I'm a true 7 so ordered the 38's) but not comfy even though you really want them to be! Not enough padding inside the shoe (hard as a rock in fact and snug in toe to make it worse). The fit is too tight to add an insole. If half sizes were an option I would just get a half size up and add an insole (the look and height would make it worth it) but they don't!!! Tried ordering a full size up (got a 39 instead of my true size 38) but the 39's were way too big.
