I wore these for a marathon in 2012, and slowly brought them down to everyday wear. I developed a slight planters fasciitis in my right foot. When I bought the kayano 19s I immediately noticed an improvement and comfort I had not experienced in my previous, minimal flat racers. I ordered the 21s to have a new training shoe with the cushioning I need. The first thing I noticed was how much lighter these are to the 19s. It seems just as well structured and I anticipate another long life from these. I'm actually replacing this pair with another color to save $45.00. The sizing is perfect. I do agree that the $160.00 retail price is s bit extreme, but with a little shopping around on desertcart the discounts and savings are well worth the effort. Same quality shoe at $70.00 off retail, as long as you are not picky about color. A great shoe is s great shoe and the kayano 21 technology doesn't change if the color / price does. UPDATE: 2-21-2016 I just got these out for a run. My right foot suffers from plantar facilitis and within .25 miles these shoes actually made my foot feel better to the point where I couldn't feel anything but normal smooth contact with the ground. The cushioning just cradled my foot and the structure provided a solid brace to keep the foot from developing any injury. Once again, this is a great shoe and provides exactly what I need Asa moderate runner in training for his 4th marathon. Review: Great shoes. Good fit. The fit was good and they provided comfort, but I wanted something that was better both for working out and walking (for exercise) as well as for wearing around. These fit the bill. This is actually my second pair after I bought the first pair locally. They offer a lot of support and fit well. I am female and prefer the men's shoes. They felt great from the moment I put them on. I keep one pair just for exercising and now have one pair for wearing around. I plan to get one more pair for wearing around, so that I can wear them only every other day to give them time to recover in between wearings. My husband had been wearing Asics for a few years now, and he also recently bought a pair of these on my recommendation and he loves them. The only thing that would make these shoes better is if they lasted longer. They are so comfortable that I usually leave them on after I get home from the gym. They provide the type of support that I need and they've held up well. When the soles of my most recent pair started to show some wear, I went to my local store to buy another pair. Asics no longer makes the Kayano 21 and have replaced it with the Kayano 22. I tried them on, they felt fine in the store, so I bought them, but after a 3 mile walk on the track at the gym, I could tell that the shoes were way too narrow. By the time I got home, it felt as if my toes had been in a vice and it took several hours for my feet to feel normal again. I returned them and after trying on several other pairs of shoes, none of which felt as good as my old 21s, I went online and found them here. I don't know how long they'll be around, though, so I'm probably going to order a second pair.
