You will need a hose barb x male pipe thread adapter to connect to the hydrant. You will want to bury the base of the hydrant in clean river stone a couple of feet and then dirt. This allows the hydrant to drain when you shut it off. It will deliver good water. These hydrants are used in rv resorts nation wide. **Q: If a hose with a sprayer attached is not activated (but there's still water pressure) does the water leak through the 1/8 inch hole at the shut off?** A: It doe not leak. Our stock tank is about 60 feet away from the hydrant, so I hook up the hose (sprayer attached) , pull up the handle to turn on the water and walk the hose to the tank. At the end, I do it in reverse then turn off the hydrant and there is never water leaking.
