It allows you to experiment with the position of the pedal before tightening the bolts.2) Put in one bolt and a loose nut, then the second will be easy and you won't worry about it falling out of reach. Then zip tie it in place. You can cut off the tie before securing the hardware.3) The third position is nearly at the firewall for long legs. The first position, the one I use, is still a little further than the clutch pedal. I have a 32" inseam and I wish it were a little bit closer, but all is good. I can always move the seat forward.4) When installed, you can still get your foot under it comfortably if you want to stretch your leg out. In fact, I have to think about using it as I forget it is available. I'm sure that will change as I drive this jeep more frequently.I don't even have 100 miles on my new Willy's. I really love this vehicle! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but you're going to fight getting it installed. *by R***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2021* The dead pedal is heavy duty and I see no reason why it wouldnt outlast the Jeep you install it in. That being said, the struggle was at first finding out that the thing would not fit in the holes it said to use above the bracket. There is a set behind there that the U bracket fit in really easy, but the mounting plate wouldnt clear the wire harness. At that point, I had to drill the correct holes out slightly larger on the bracket on the jeep AND the mounting plate. Once that was done, the install went as smooth as it possibly could have given the tight space you had to work in. Ive read some people say that the install was super easy, well that wasnt the case here. If you are willing to chance similar struggles, I think you will be pleased with the additional ride comfort that the pedal provides. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect! Greatly helps with my issues with my left foot. Being a big guy at 6’2”, the install was a little challenging. Though it only took me 30 minutes to install i could only use one hand by the time I got underneath the dashboard. Be careful inserting the bolts as they could easily be dropped. Also as instructions say, use either tape or a tie wrap to hold bolts in place while placing pedal on. Also try as much as possible correctly determine placement of pedal so you do not have to remove, adjust and reinstall.
