The fisheye lens is a great feature of the camera. By the way, he has had NO issues with his camera and loves it.When I first turned it on, it worked great for about 5 minutes. After charging the battery and turning it back on, the camera was stuck on startup screen. I was unable to turn it off or restart it by a long press on the Wireless button or the Mode button.After powering on/off about 10 times (by removing the battery) the camera starting working again. I was able to take a few pictures and adjust the time stamp date. Then, after powering off then back on, it stopped working - stuck back on startup screen.After some research, ( https://dashcamtalk.com/sj5000-plus/ ) I found there seems to be some SD card compatibility issues. I also read that earlier versions of the firmware were not the most stable. The displayed date stamp on the screen when I first turned it it on read 2014 so this camera may have had the earlier firmware issue. I couldn't find an available firmware update.A lot of people love this camera but it seems kind of hit or miss on quality.
