If you think that Hanks pin is fat, this one is twice as wide although flat. I simply can’t use it.The bronze color is more gold than I had hoped, better to go with the antiqued version unless you want a sorta shiny gold buckle.The buckle has slots to keep the pin centered. This isn’t necessary but shows some care in design.I’m not docking the rating just because it’s a wide pin and huge buckle. The buckle would work nicely with some belts blanks with larger pin holes sold here on Amazon. Sometimes I don't want to wear a big belt buckle and this works great on my 1.5" belts. The reason I was shopping was that one of my leather belts that I had worn for 15+ years wore through on the buckle. Some engineer decided to use raised lettering for the country of origin and put this on the part of the buckle where the leather wraps around. It took 15+ years, but that lettering wore through my leather.
