The colors are perhaps a bit brighter than shown on the picture. These work well as both feeding bibs as well as drooling/spit up bibs. As there is pink and purple bibs in this set, I would definitely call this a more female-gender related item (though I love when all babies wear all colors). The bibs hold up as expected. You should be able to use these throughout your child's whole first year of life. For the price, I really have no complaints. I have washed and dried several times, and they still appear relatively new. They are soft (they do not have the hard waterproof liner on the back as some bibs do. If you are looking for a bib that will hold up to HEAVY spills, this may not be for you).
