The satin (not quite glossy) black with the intercalated ribbed/gnarled shine of the black metal links next to the richly stained wood is just striking and gorgeous. With a black cover plate for my watch, the thing looks like no other smart watch on the market.Easy to put on, like all the watch bands for this.Easier to resize than most metal bands I've ever had before. It has a simple pin-tool (Included) that you push into EITHER side of each link hinge, and the thing opens. There is no directionality to it. If you've ever used the tradition screw-pin tool to resize metal watch bands, you'll really appreciate how much easier and idiot proof this one is.Sturdy. The wood pieces are not the load-bearing members of the chain... the two thin black gnarled metal links on either side are. While it may be slightly challenging to get all the holes to line up when you're resizing, it's not really. This was an excellent solution to the strength problem that wood would introduce, and it's great looking, too. Just an excellent design.The release mechanism is nicer than on the many metal bands I've had before. You push the two release latches in from either side of the clasp, and it easily releases. Not like the older ones where you just pulled up on the clasp with enough force to snap it off the latch. Much more comfortable.The bad:Hard to use with the samsung dual fast charger (the one that charges your phone vertically on the left and has a flat charger for your watch on the right side. Since this band doesn't open flat, you have to lift up your charger and put the watch band around/under the charge station in order to get the watch to flatly align with the charge coil. It won't charge by resting the watch across the vertical side (I tried). This causes your charger to be unbalanced, and it's easy to accidentally knock it and break the wireless charger alignment so you come back to find your watch not charged. It works fine with the stock watch charger, though - the one where your watch is standing up on its side.You could disconnect one side of the band, but the spring pins that hold it to the watch are not tightly fixed inside the watch band, and I'm sure you'd lose one on the floor next to your bed eventually, and not be able to wear your watch until you find it or a replacement. If you have extras, this could work. It is easy to remove the watch band from one side of the watch, but It's still more of a pain in the butt than something I'd like to do everyday. It kind of negates the convenience of having the dual charger if you did that.A little uncomfortable when typing if you tend to rest your wrists on the desk/laptop.Minor: Because there are so many parts on each link that all can move a bit independently of each other, the band can make a little bit of a crunching sound if you squeeze your wrist or if you really tweak the watch band (as my 1 year old loves to do). It doesn't happen in normal usage, and it doesn't really bother me at all, but it might seem odd to some people and would give them the impression of low build quality.
