It is inside thread.one inch. **Q: I have a fountain at 49in. in diameter will this stay in the fountain or go over the fountain? thanks** A: It depend on the pressure of your pump and diameter of the pipe to the head, however we were amazed at the projection of this head. So much so that removing the center “stud” was needed not to exceed the given area. That allowed for a better flow. **Q: How high does it spray** A: As high as the pressure on the pump will spray it.
