The quality is great and they are very sturdy. I don’t think they are meant to be used as just one though. I got three rails and connected them as shown in the product photo.I love that they make my bed one big safe baby area. These are the only rails I’ve seen on amazon that are tall enough, so that my monkey can’t climb over them.Installation was straightforward. I used the screws to attach it straight to my mattress foundation. I have a box springs base, but it should also work with a slatted base.
