**Q: Has anyone tried freezing water inside the ice pusher and then using those cubes in the shaver? Will it the pusher crack in the freezer?**
A: I remember seeing this so I just tried it and it works and gives you a whole cup of shaved ice. My pusher didnt crack and the lid does come off. . Ice is a little hard to get out but I wouldn't recommend banging injust run warm water and it should slide out soon. Better than ice cubes. The pusher ice is one job with ice cubes you have to fill it twice for a whole cup. Thanks for the suggestion!!

**Q: Is the ice like snow cone ice or shaved ice?**
A: The final result from this is shaved ice but you could certainly add some flavor to it to make a snow cone, too, I would think!

This ice shaver is great! We used it for an shaved ice bar we had at a party. Easy to use, cute color, and no issues. Perfect travel friendly ice shaver for a budget friendly price. BUT what I wanted to really review - is the bonus ice cube tray. THIS IS MY FAVORITE ICE CUBE TRAY!!! I actually went on amazon to see if I could buy them (forgot it was a bonus from this purchase). I wish they sold these ice cube trays separately!! That's how good it is. I may need to make another purchase just so I can get another ice cube tray! HA!

On the whole I love this thing. It doesn't spit out the shavings quite as quickly as I would prefer, but for the price I'm happy. It does do the job. The shavings are nicely fine and the product functions well. I read other reviews and am a bit annoyed by the standards some purchasers set for its performance. They seemed to be expecting a more commercial standard of performance which, given what it appears to be in the pictures is completely unrealistic. I am able to put six cubes in the hopper and the crank turns easily and shaves the ice into into fine shavings for snow cones or whatever. The catchment piece is a nice size for storing in the freezer. My four star rating is owing to the fact that I thought the item would be larger. I should have rooted around until I found its dimensions. Still, I'm not disappointed. I would buy it again for either myself or as a gift. It seems well made. It's a nice product.
