I used this sweetener for many, many years as did my husband. 3 years ago I began to experience abdominal pain and diarrhea after anything I ate and drank. During 2 years I had medical checks and surgical procedures to no effect. When I was researching a different problem for a family member I came across information regarding the effect on a small number of people who used some types of sweetener. On a Saturday in December I stopped using the sweetener. On the next day to my amazement I had no unpleasant symptoms after my meals. It is now 6 months later and I know of another person who tried successfully to cure the problem by cutting out sweeteners having been told by a friend.
