Freeze the middle canister for a minimum of 15-30 mins and chill your drink of choice before trying to make anything otherwise it’s going to take way longer to make and since the machine is a tad bit noisy I try to do what I can to cut back on the run time. Next would be make sure whatever you are trying to icee that it is high in sugar or it will NOT WORK. It’s honestly super easy to use and personally I have loved trying all different kinds of “icee” flavors aka soda, don’t bother buying the syrups unless it’s something you really want. Soda and high sugar drinks are what I have found work best and keeps it on the budget friendly side. Lastly it’s really easy to clean!! The lid comes off completely and the middle removes as well! Hopefully this helps! Review: Do not buy this... it simply does not work and is made from cheap plastic - I was disappointed at unboxing and it was down hill from there. Ice, salt and room temp water inside metal container. syrup goes in the other spout so it is outside the metal canister but still inside the plastic see thru container. by this time I have to add more ice, salt and water to the inside metal container. It takes a good 15 to 20 minutes. Keep adding ice and be patient. It does work and it is good. **Q: As I watched the video , is the salt they are using table salt?** A: Use ice cream salt. It gets colder much faster. 👍 **Q: can you just fill it with gatorade and have it make gatorade slushies?** A: Put your beverage in the fridge for a while first to get it cold. I make coke icees in my ice cream maker and it turns out better if the beverage you use is cold when you start. **Q: Can you use Splenda instead of sugar or will it not freeze properly without sugar?** A: The instructions are designed specifically for ICEE brand syrup mixed with water to an exact specification. My slushie addiction has been satisfied. *by T***E on May 9, 2020* Used it twice now. Made regular black cherry slushies and coffee frappes they came out great. We make our own ice cream so We used rock salt have to say DONT USE ROCK SALT, it binds it up. Use table or kosher salt. The second run of frappes (coffee syrup and 2% milk) came out better than Starbucks. We did end up increasing the syrup to 7 oz instead of 5 oz for both runs. It goes quick. Watch it like a hawk after 10 min because its one of those nothing, nothing, nothing, holy cow we got slushies!!! Make sure to keep the ice topped off and you're golden. Prep is key though make sure everything is cold when you start.
