This salad spinner has a clear container that shows the activity. The handle/spinning system has a great amount of torque. You simply push down on the handle, let it up and the spinning action begins. To stop the unit from spinning, there is a brake button. There is a hold-down button/release. I think leaving the handle in the up position will keep the spring out of compression and extend the spring life, but this will make storage a bit more bulkier. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Would definitely buy again. String gets frayed after only a few uses and then it breaks and the whole thing is in the trash. I love that this isn’t like that. It is the perfect size. I use it to prep greens for the week and store them in this in the fridge. My lettuce lasts much longer. Just don’t use a knife to cut it (tear it).
