When I started using a safety razor 10 years ago I saw everyone online saying that Feathers were the best out there so I proceeded with them. I always got on pretty well with them although found them to be a bit too sharp and easy to cut yourself with. But in recent months I have found Feather blades have gone right downhill and every blade bar none in my last batch suffered from a defect where one side of the blade felt dull and almost painful to shave with. So I decided it was finally time for a change and tried Derby blades because I read a lot of good things about them. Wow, is all I can say. I wish I had used these from day one. They are sharp enough to provide a sublime shave but not to the extent where you end up with cuts when applying gentle pressure like I found with Feather blades. Both sides of the blades feel equally sharp and correctly manufactured. The cost of the blades is very reasonable. Overall Derby blades feel like the perfect blade and I won't be using anything else from now on.
