Our Twin XL mattresses had sheet creep, especially after raising and lowering the head and/or foot of the bed. We tried the Bed Bands and they resolved the problem. We put one on each corner of the mattress and they have held the sheets nice and firm with no more creep. I would recommend them to anyone. **Q: will they help sheets that are too big fit the mattress better?** A: I do have sheets that are king size, fit a queen bed with these bed bands. Put on bed bands and pull the adjustable cord until it pulls the sheet corners equally together, further towards the center of bed depending on how large the sheets are. They wl hold the same way since you will pull one corner at a time until all 4 corners are relatively the same. This product is awesome. I hope these comments helped. **Q: Will keep the entire sheet tight and wrinkle free across the whole bed? Or do they just keep it from slipping off the corners?** A: These are the best bed band anywhere!! They definitely keep the sheets from slipping off the corners. Do they "absolutely" keep the sheets tight and wrinkle free across the whole bed, hmmmm . . difficult to answer. There are factors that affect their effectiveness, the mattress, type of bed, quality of sheets, and dimensions of sheets, and mattress. Good sheets normally say what height mattress they fit. the closer the fit of the mattress height to the sheet, the better. The larger diameter across the corner that you can stretch the bed bands, the tighter the sheet and less wrinkles. If you have a "hospital" type / adjustable bed where the head or feet rise, as we have, they still tend to wrinkle a little. But, I will repeat, they are the best bed bands anywhere. **Q: How long will one stretch including the clips?** A: The bed bands are about 10" long and are made of a thin bungee cord material. Most decent sheets seem to be made to accommodate mattresses up to about 15 inches, which means there's plenty of material to bunch up.These bands installed really easily, at the corners of the mattress. They don't reach very far in to the middle areas of the edges, and I find that while they are keeping the sheets relatively taut at the corners, there's still some wrinkling and bunching occurring from the areas on the sides that are furthest from the corners. It's much better than it was before, and a quick smoothing with the hands seems to be all it takes to work most of the wrinkles out, rather than having to strip the bed down to the fitted sheet and straighten things up that way.Being a combination memory foam/gel mattress, it's not terribly heavy and I was able to attach these bands to the sheets easily. If you have a heavy mattress and a bed frame that encapsulates the mattress, it may be more of a chore to get these on lifting with one hand and manipulating the clips with the other. I wish they were longer as we had to use them at full length (and consequently lost the functionality of the center adjuster) because they are securing a fitted sheet on a California king mattress.We've gotten tired of wrestling with non-fitted sheets on our California king waterbed for several years and recently replaced the waterbed mattress with a California king coil spring, reversible mattress from The Original Mattress Factory. This model (Orthopedic adjustable) fits tightly enough in the waterbed frame making it a major challenge to lift out and make/adjust the sheets -- but not tightly enough to hold the fitted sheet in place in the long run. We purchased sheets from Amazon (ASIN# B06X6MBV92) that we like and used these Bend Band grippers combined with SheetLock fasteners (B01N5SIATD) and Original Sheet Suspenders (B0014AMBWK), also from Amazon, to make the fitted sheet stay put.Since the fitted sheet would have been a pretty loose fit on our 10-1/2 inch tall mattress, we used these Bed Bands in each corner. The clips themselves held very well to our particular sheets (which are a bit slipperier than plain cotton) when we tested it by tugging on them once secured to a sheet. Because we had them adjusted at full length, the only way we could set the tension was based on how far away we clipped the second clip along the adjacent side of the corner. The elastic cords in these Bed Bands seems to have stronger tension than straps that we've used and I suspect the elasticity of these corner "cords" will outlast that in the straps we installed elsewhere on the mattress. We used the Original Sheet Suspenders in a cross-shaped pattern and the SheetLock fasteners across the shoulder and foot areas to complement the Bend Bands.Since our mattress has no pillow-top portion and no memory foam, it's a rather solid, firm surface and I'm impressed that the sheet is held in place very well by these Bed Bands along with the two other gripping products. I'm deducting one star because they don't seem to be long enough to place where they would singularly hold a Cal king sheet in place. I'm not really certain any single solution would work over the long run. That said, I think if these were used alone on a twin or full mattress, they might have more overall sheet tightening results.Finally, I would note that the user has to be practical in adjusting the tension on the bands -- on this or any other similar products. The more tension you put on the elastic, the more likely you'll experience the clips slipping off the sheet. I think most of the manufacturers know this and don't make the clips so tight that they are more likely to *tear* the sheet than to *slip off* the sheet. If you're looking for military cot type of super taut sheets permanently, put heavy duty tarp clips (ASIN# B01KTULL80) on the sheet, tie cords tightly between them, then drop the mattress in place.
