However, my GPU has a bunch of DP ports so I was looking for an adapter than could allow me to use both monitors at the same time and this was the simple and sleek solution. This adapter is unidirectional, which was confusing at first because I wasn't sure if it was going to work for me, but then I realised that I was in the lucky spot where I was trying to change the signal coming from the computer, not the signal coming from the monitor; the adapter won't work if you're trying to convert your monitor from HDMI to DisplayPort through the port directly connected to the monitor, it will only work if you're trying to convert the signal coming from the computer. So I've just plugged the end of my monitor's HDMI cable into the adapter, and then plugged the adapter into the DisplayPort on my GPU, and everything works like a dream. No issues with flashing, latency, or anything. It's truly plug and play, and there are no addtional wires between the HDMI and DP sections to boot.
