I either had to bend my legs to raise it or put him on a pillow on top of it (both these options defeated the purpose of a nursing pillow for me)- Flipping the whole thing over was annoying when switching sides- It is very big so didn't fit in chairs with arms (great size for nursing in bed though)Overall I feel like me and my baby were just the wrong shape for it as I see most people love it.
