You just must be careful putting it down for the few seconds it takes to cool after you release the trigger. **Q: can htis be used to cut vinyl coated fabric such as Stamoid Top or Shelter-rite?** A: The blade on this cutter gets red hot. More than likely, your vinyl coated fabric can be cut easily. Just be careful you don't lag in one spot too long or you'll have a melted vinyl blob **Q: Will this cut spray foam?** A: I think it would cut it with no problem! We cut regular foam and it worked so fast and easily! You’ll want to try cutting a small bit of spray foam first to see how fast/slow you need to move the cutter. It basically melts the item. **Q: Will it cut through plaskolite** A: It'll melt it, not the ideal tool for the job.
