## Description

Syngenta Advion Ant Gel - 1 Box (4 X 30 Gr.Syringes)

Review: Highly effective - I’ve never used any bait that works anywhere as well as this product. Springtime and the ants are creating new pathways into my home. I squeeze some of the gel onto card stock or similar and place near their path. The ants quickly congregate and consume it. Dozens at a time. They carry it back to the nest and within hours it takes out the carriers and presumably ants in the nest.
Review: This is the one! Forget all the other ant "killers" - We normally see a couple of the super small ants around spring. Set out a "big name" ant trap or two, and the problem is solved. For some reason, this year has been different. Had the typical few small ants. But also started seeing the big black ones. I tried Terro, Raid, Hot Shot, etc. From sprays to bait. Nothing was working. The only thing these big name traps seemed to attract was our stupid dog. At my wits end and ready to call an exterminator, I turned to the web. Which unfortunately these days is nothing more than affiliate links, veiled as "reviews" and recommendations. But slogging through a sea of unreliable nonsense, Advion got consistent mentions. A little pricey, but I'd already wasted more on ineffective baits, traps, and sprays. So I pulled the trigger and hoped for the best. The order showed up quickly, and I was eager to go to war. Made sure to read the instructions. As this stuff certainly seemed like something different. Seeming like it was a more commercial/professional type product. No crazy marketing and colors on the packaging. Just a tubes of this amazing stuff. The instructions essentially advised that less is more. I was eager to go overboard. Slathering it all over the place. But ultimately decided to give the pros at Advion the benefit of the doubt. Strategically placed a few beads and dollops, as instructed. Targeting highly trafficked areas and points of entry. Both of which were a little bit hard to identify given how many ants we were seeing. But I did my best. Staying up late the first night. Patiently watching their patterns of movement. I was hoping to see all the ants start rushing for the gel bait. And was a bit defeated when that wasn't the case. However, slowly but surely, more and more started visiting the buffets of this wonderfully toxic and gooey goodness. Grabbing a quick bite and heading on down the road. Still, I was a bit disappointed that the ants didn't start immediately dropping dead left and right. Yet I managed to stay patient. Playing the long game. Knowing that for the stuff to work, it needed to be a slow burn. Giving these crawling intruders time to return home and share their spoils. As we moved into day #2, there wasn't much change in the number of ants. But I started seeing some subtle indications that the Advion Gel may be working. Some of the ants were walking funny. Lethargic, lack of control; almost zombie-like. Based on some other reviews I'd read, I decided to replenish/refresh all my bait locations. As the gel seems to dry out a bit after a day or so. Perhaps some of the ingredients evaporating? Whatever the reason, I can attest to the fact that the ants seemed to appreciate the fresh gel. I also took this as an opportunity to apply it in some other spots that seemed to be getting more traffic. One thing I found that worked quite well was to watch a few ants in close proximity. Then place a small dot of gel very close to them, in their direction of travel. Basically it was as if I were helping them to stumble across the fresh bait. Which after I could get one to feed, it seemed as though the unfortunate pawn would spread the word about the free meal. I repeated the above, day after day. Adjusting the gel placement as needed. Around day 3 was probably the first time their waning numbers became apparent. And each subsequent day, fewer and fewer ants would be seen. It may not have been an instantly decisive victory, but the outcome was becoming clear. At around day 5-6, I could only find a few ants aimlessly wandering. Our basement had once been ground zero of their operations. Now looking like a remote and forgotten outpost. With the few stragglers left wondering what befell all their brethren. I think we're now on day 8. And I haven't applied any new bait in two days. Checked a handful of times throughout the evening, and could't find a single ant. It's as if they'd never existed. A satisfying conclusion to this adventure. There were ups and downs. But in the end, I emerged victorious. Of the 4 tubes, I only ended up using around a half of one. So I still have plenty of reserves. Should the need ever arise. For now, all I can do is sing the praises of this wonderfully devastating product.a ***Pros*** - Works incredibly well - Easy to apply and clean up - For a homeowner, a 4-pack will last a LONG time ***Cons*** - None that I can think of ***Tips/Tricks*** - Study the ants' movements to figure out where to best apply the gel - If you don't want to apply the gel directly to a surface, I found that putting a dot/line of gel on a popsicle stick worked really well. This made it especially easy to place the gel underneath appliances. And to refresh the gel each day. I ended up just tossing each popsicle stick daily; replacing it with a new one. - Resist the urge to go overboard with applying it. You don't need to slather it on. Just be strategic in where you place it; making sure to hit all the high traffic areas and points of entry. Also, as mentioned previously, placing a little dollop about an inch or two in front of an ant (in its direction of travel) is a great way to help them "find" and start returning to the bait. - Resist the urge to smash the ants you see once you've started using the gel. It may be tempting to distribute some good old fashioned street justice. But you really want to ensure that they return to their nest. ***Bottom Line*** This Advion gel may be a bit pricey compared to other baits. But it's worth every penny. Forget messing with the traditional "big box store" brands. This stuff is absolutely the way to go. Just be patient. Stay on top of re-applying for a few days. Stand back, and enjoy your ultimate victory.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective professional strength solution
*by A***R on July 3, 2025*

I really recommend that people try this before they call exterminators. Personally, I have used it for perhaps.... 10 years! I had to check my history, but its true. Where i am the ants come back every year and really every time the season changes into a warm period. This stuff is good bait, inexpensive, and versatile when you get creative with applications and compare it to calling a professional. Its about twice as expensive as it used to be 10 years ago, but many things are. A number of other pest control products have recommended that users cycle between products and not overuse any one product because insect populations can adapt to specific chemical 'actions'. So what you want to do is not only use different kinds of products like bait stations, gels, gases, glue traps, etc., but also check that these products you are using do not contain the same active ingredient. The Terro products usually use borax and there are a couple of other major substances I have noticed that are commonly used on retail level products . Then there are the professional strength items like these that are legal to sell. The higher level professional products are not legal to sell for varying safety reasons. This brand I have seen a professional use which is why i attest to it being professional strength. Use a mixture of things like this and stuff from the Terro brand since they have different actions. Alternate and mix it up so that each remains effective, and so that you more thoroughly and maybe quickly eliminate pests. Regarding this stuff alone, it is very attractive to ants. And you should notice this quickly. If not then the bottle may not be fresh or your ants may not like the stuff. I apply it to paths I confirm ants walk, but also just apply it in front of wherever they are to get things rolling faster. They should not walk around the stuff. They should walk up to it and start eating, with other ants joining them after a short while. Its a good idea to place the gel on some paper or plastic sheets to keep surfaces clean, as this stuff can stain certain painted surfaces, especially if it sits and dries. It doesn't smell and i can't speak to how dangerous it may be to pets but its not a good idea to be careless with applications that are vulnerable to pet interference. I definitely think you can keep a tube for at least a year or maybe to reuse the next year if you take care of the bottles in storage. But they will be less attractive with time. Personally i have found the dry terro pellets ( )used outside, and advion gel applied inside and outside to work well. The spray barriers are really hit and miss depending on the situation and weather. Sealing holes in with caulk is more effective than spray barriers, but it can be difficult at times to do this. An exterminator explained that you can never plug all holes and this may be true but i think this is mostly what they say and believe since their business is built on repeat visits. Spray barriers can help discourage ants from moving into certain areas , meaning that a spray barrier applied inside may not need to be reapplied even though ants may remain (outside) adjacent to the area you are trying to exclude them from. Overall and to reiterate this stuff works and is inexpensive compared to even calling som exterminators for fist visits or consultations. Pest control is somewhat a part of keeping any space clean. It can be done by those who reside and use the space, or you can leave it up to professionals if you can afford it. here is a link to the terro pellets https://www.amazon.com/T901-6-Acting-Cockroach-Crawling-Insects/dp/B001B1KGCO/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1TPD833XBPGE&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.CsckqcVUYGIvxnAO2-sgLkptN8yerZRBxGCZAVB2HqfotlGKRlo3DnDCbHuiEtoLoL0T1ZcPah5i3Kb7Uy74ywWbeonpr7Pwg3aYeorFhz5xdhSC_crkUkModfx2wHVWUUGBO5kPU8eXHk9GGo6d3sOXfOg64bGHS1sVsTerNGuyjKW0Mqyu0nxJhVn9qC9FX_bB-UFGdZ7xTYrk7sbJ3PwaT5V8SjSiCGfNdbmIJ_14IgtwMuzi04UkTIBa2mqcawbLZInICR3P3LBPp1AMuEQk7KUhHC95-lIG15zqhkI.oBDe_EXbZq8d2aNA7EMvE3dZeMeLMENuU6o51n9k1o0&dib_tag=se&keywords=terro&qid=1751503198&sprefix=terro%2Caps%2C239&sr=8-6&th=1
