The headache came after a few minutes of taking ONE capsule with some warm water. It's amazing how quick the headache started. I did have to take some ibuprofen though. The instructions on the bottle says to take 2 capsules 3 times a day. Everybody is different so I knew to start off easy with this potent root. Listen to your gut and be wise. I took it with warm water to melt the capsule quicker and waited about 5 minutes before eating something. I felt the affects right away. It's almost as if it made my body have a hot flash. I literally thought it was "pulling" a hot flash from me in a very slow and smooth way. It was a full body heat which was not normal for me since I only get heat from the neck up and at the lower part of my legs and feet. I never have flashes around my body. The whole body heat didn't cause me to sweat so I think it was just a sensation within me. I put my hands against my cheecks to see if my skin was warm. They were cool. Then I knew whatever was happening was definately occuring internally. I should let you know that I took the first capsule in the evening. I didn't want to try it out while at work since I didn't know what the symptoms would be like. Better that way. I went to bed to watch a movie and every several minutes I had a very soft and smooth hot flash (more like an easy rush of heat) that would subside within a minute. I was able to sleep nicely even though I felt slight 'heat rushes' throughout the night. Nothing that really disturbed my sleep. When the 'heat rush' episodes would subside, I would actually feel cold and have to put the covers on and go back to sleep. That was pleasant. It was a good first night. I am so glad I didn't take 2 capsules. It could have been a crazy evening. The next morning I decided to open a capsule and pour a pinch into an 8oz. Cup of hot water to make a tea. I drank this while driving to work. Once in a while I felt my body want to start a flash so I would take a good swallow of my tea and the start of the flash would dissipate within a few seconds to a minute or 2. I made more tea throughout the day (at work) as I needed. Half way through the day I decided to just remember to sip some tea every few or several minutes just to avoid an 'episode'. Why not right?. One sweaty flash got away from me and I just gulped the rest of the tea real quick. It was a quick sweaty flash that lasted about 2 minutes. If a flash happened, it didn't come on like a ton of bricks to kick my ass. It was easier and quieter. So far so good. Peed a lot Hahaaa..... I made a tea for the drive home. Just 1 baby heat flash when I got home. It was so subtle that I didn't realize it until I felt hot (like a normal person) and took my jacket off. I was all smiles!!.... Only drank 1 cup of tea when I got home. Made another one the next morning. We're at the beginning of the 3rd day now.
