Most of the steam/moisture & oils in the food remain in the pot so a lot of times little to no additional oil/liquids are required. This Kalchatti is traditionally used to cook in a wood fire and age-old traditional utensil passed on for several generations. Kalchatti is made of stone (soapstone) from the earth and is designed to retain heat and keep food warm for 4-5 hours.
