Because of the metal deck on which the carafe sits and also because of the excellent non-skid bottom of the machine, as I pull the machine out from the wall across the counter-top, sometimes the carafe vibrates off and falls to the floor. This has happened twice and I have replaced the carafe each time for an expense of nearly 20$. I have now paid as much for carafes as I have for the machine itself.
