A wok doesn't have a very large base of support and can tip easily. I wouldn't want one full of hot oil on my stove. Although I have the glass top stove and have not used the T-fal Wok on the coil burners, I believe it will work on them The bottom of the wok has about a 3-1/2 inch wide circumference that is flat. I took a photo of the wok bottom but I don't see any way to attach it to the Amazon response. My old one was too heavy and was loosing it's non-stick coating. This one is lighter, has good non-stick ability, and a good wok-shape. A good shape for a stove-top wok is kind of cone-shaped, with as small a flat bottom as practical. You still need it to sit on the stove without falling over (a real wok has no flat bottom, and you need a wok ring on your burner to put it on), but some "woks" have so much flat bottom they're basically a high-sided frying pan, which is not the same thing. This one is a good design and works well for my cooking needs. Since it's big, the lighter weight makes a big difference for me in ease of cooking, and washing it as well.
