They are supposed to be waterproof but I remove them after my stargazing so than when recharging them, they can be placed at an angle to catch the full sunlight. I couldn't wait to put them in my garden. Even though my yard only gets about three hours of bright sunlight because of all the trees surrounding my house, I was hoping that would be enough. Lately we've had a lot of rain, so I wasn't sure they would perform. Well even though they got very little sunlight, they still came on at dusk, but a few were dim.
