This was so heartbreaking. 😭😭😭 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Walking Dead graphic novels are still going strong *by A***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2017* Walking Dead Volme 24: Life and DeathWarning: Spoilers if you haven't read up to this point.In volume 24 of the graphic novel series by Robert Kirkman, somewhat synced with the tv series, what's left of the original Atlanta group is scattered but in touch. Rick and Andrea run the Alexandria colony, where Nagan is jailed. They are getting ready for a regional barter fair and everyone is busy preparing, tired and nervous.Maggie is running the Hilltop with Jesus and dealing with the aftermath of a rebellion, while Carl has followed Lydia back to her people, the Whisperers, who believe they should return to the animal state. Search parties have not been able to find him, and when Rick attempts to rescue his son, Alpha has a few nasty surprises waiting.Ezekiel loves the elusive Michonne, and we get a bit of backstory that explains why she left him. She spends her time on a fishing vessel! Surely Kirkman won't keep the exceptional Michonne miserable forever .. but could one bear to see her smile? Maybe in Vol. 24. Maybe not.Dwight runs the Saviors now and the human colonies seem to be getting along, or at least not fighting.As the novel builds toward the upcoming fair, the reader knows that Kirkman doesn't let our human friends go through a whole volume without a lot of pain and suffering .. so all the relative peace of the first half is going to lead somewhere very unpleasant.Charlie Adlard wields a mighty pencil and Stefano Gaudiano inks the stark, definitive artwork while Cliff Rathburn handles the grey tones. The page layouts are well-designed. The shots tend to be closeups with occasional medium shots, several full page depictions and a few two-page spreads that are beautiful, detailed and impactful. Not gorgeous but impressive.Characters are nuanced and recognizable. The story moves forward at a good pace and you get at least a little time with most of your favorite characters.Rus Wooton's lettering is clear and easy to read.
