The material is like silicone, it's very comfortable and not at all sweaty when I work out. I think the steps are calculating accurately. I have counted the steps and check my zip and they are accurate. Some other reviews said it counted steps when they were typing or anytime they moved their hand. I can't say that has happened to me.
