I bended it into a bridge and he likes to go through it alot and use it as a hiding place. He sometimes sleeps or relax in it. Its fun to watch him try to go on top since hes so small which he eventually does. I can buy another one and use it as a platform on top of some mesh wire for extra space. Its a great boredom breaker or hiding place. I didn't know it had wire in it. It's flexible, which is pretty cool, because we can make it into a little dwelling or stretch it across like a walkway. She bent it into a U shape and placed it under the water bottle so the hamster could climb up and reach it. If u plan on using it like a bridge like I did, some zip ties will help secure it to your 2nd story part of the cage. One of my guineas chews on it, and it has held up well, still no splintering!
