They are soft, I like the brushes a lot. But I used the case one time for an overnight and it split from top to bottom. I would like a replacement case from the vendor. If I get one I will improve my star-rating from 2 to 5.UPDATE:Oak Organic not only sent me a replacement case - they sent a whole replacement set, including 4 toothbrushes. They were very responsive once I messaged them. They informed me sellers cannot reply to reviews nor see identifying customer info. I am using the brush in place of a water pick because I can't stand them. I use an electric toothbrush twice a day, also soft. Then I brush one to two times a day with this manual brush, concentrating on gums and between my teeth. You really are only supposed to brush three times a day max; but the brush is soft, and I am very gentle.
