It is not an actual golf club grip replacement that you might install after removing an old worn out grip. Instead, you would use these grip wrapping tapes over the old worn grip to get a new, softer, tackier grip surface. As others have mentioned, the thickness is dependent on how much you overlap as you wind the grip tape around the old grip. Regarding building up the grip size, I just got a new driver that came with a standard grip. Rather than remove a brand-new grip to replace it with a jumbo-sized grip, I used two grip tapes. I wrapped the first layer by overlapping half-way up the width of the tape, so that each time around, the grip wrap was double thickness. Of course, by doing this, the tape ended about 3 to 4 inches from the bottom of the original grip. I wrapped the second tape over the first, this time overlapping only about a 1/4-inch above the bottom edge. That way the grip tape reached to the bottom of the original grip. The result was definately a built-up grip, pretty close to "jumbo sized". Make sure when you wrap the grip to ignore the pictures showing the grip wrapped from the bottom to the butt end. You should always wrap from the butt end down the grip towards the club head. It's also important to put some tension on the grip tape, stretching it slightly as you wrap. Keep the wrapping angle and the overlap consistent all the way down the grip. Don't hesitate to re-do the wrap if it doesn't look even and consistent, then finish it off with the black tape around the bottom edge, stretching that tape slightly as well. Even when wrapping a grip twice, the job still doesn't take more than minute or two per club, and the grip will feel great and last until you get tired of looking at it. Mine have lasted for a full season, playing several times each week, and the only reason I would need to change or replace them would be if I just had to have a new color!! ( I don't ) **Q: How many wraps come per package?** A: From 3 to 24 depending on the package you purchase. **Q: Can you put the grip wrap on and then another to help increase the size of the grip to more of a midsize grip?** A: I imagine you could, but just adding the grip wrap increases the size noticeably. **Q: The description stated 6 wraps, but I only received 5.
