WITHSTANDS THE HARSHEST ELEMENTS Prevent deicing salt, chloride and freeze-thaw damage with our most recommended sealer. Hydrophobic concrete resists rain, moisture, and organic growth — preventing cracking. Our proprietary silane/siloxane blend offers longer service life and better performance in a safe water-based formula. PREVENT CRACKING, PITTING & SPALLING Easily applied with a low-pressure sprayer, roller, or brush on a variety of concrete, brick and masonry applications. Concrete should obtain 80% of design strength, typically achieved within 14-28 days. The concrete substrate must be structurally sound and clean of oil, grease, dirt, wax, curing compounds, efflorescence, paints, previous sealers, adhesives and other contaminants that might interfere with the penetration of the sealer. Power wash, acid etch or mechanically scarify as necessary to achieve the desired surface condition. Allow for proper dry time before application. May be applied to slightly damp surfaces, although maximum penetration is achieved on dry substrates. The surface-zone moisture content of the concrete should not exceed 4% wt. Do not apply if standing water is visible. Surface and air temperatures must be at least 40°F during application. Surface and air temperatures should not exceed 95°F. Do not apply when temperatures are expected to fall below 32°F within 8 hours or when rain is expected within 12 hours following application. Keep material from freezing. If freezing conditions exist before application, let the substrate thaw before application. Do not apply during inclement weather or when inclement weather is expected within 12 hours. Crack, patching and expansion joint sealants can be applied before or after application; always test for compatibility and adhesion. Protect people, property, vehicles, window glass, roofing materials, plastic products, shrubbery, landscaping and all surfaces not set for treatment from overspray. Application - Ready to Use: Always test a small area before application to ensure desired performance, aesthetics, coverage rates and to verify application technique. Let test area dry thoroughly, 5-7 days, before inspection. Stir material throughly before and during application. Do not dilute or alter material for purposes other than specified. Two wet-on-wet coats are needed to ensure complete coverage. Apply with a roller, brush or low-pressure non-atomizing sprayer. Apply to saturation and let the first coat penetrate for 5-10 minutes then reapply a second coat in the same saturating manner. Less material will be needed for the second coat. Roll or broom out any puddles until the sealer penetrates the substrate. If it starts to rain, stop treatment and cover the impregnated areas. Dry Time: Typical drying time is 4-6 hours at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Cooler temperatures or higher relative humidity can extend the drying time. Treated surfaces will be ready for pedestrian and vehicle traffic within 24 hours. Water repellency will continue to develop within 7 days of application. Clean Up: Clean equipment, tools and surfaces with hot soapy water. Unused or old material may be disposed of in a waste disposal site in accordance with local, state and federal laws. Precautions/Safety: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing, do not take internally. Use appropriate safety equipment during application and handling. Please refer to the safety data sheet (SDS) for additional precautionary instructions before use. Best Performance: Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Will not inhibit water penetration through unsound or cracked surfaces with defective flashing, caulking or structural waterproofing. Spills should not be allowed to sit for extended periods of time, clean all spills in a timely manner. Make sure the most current versions of product data sheets and safety data sheets are being used. Coverage: 1 coat: 150 - 400 square feet per gallon. 2 coats: 75 - 200 square feet per gallon. Variations in texture and porosity of substrate will affect the coverage and performance of the product.

Review: My go-to sealer for my chimney - Years ago, I used Thompson water sealer. The product changed over time; was milky and waxy when applied. I tried this product instead and have used it twice. The first time was for my chimney, which would leak when hit with high winds and driving rain. It sealed superbly; no leaks *at all*, ever. Then I purchased more to seal a concrete pad, and some touch up the chimney just in case. It's very easy to apply with a simple pump sprayer and performs exactly as advertised. This product is a winner; hope they don't change a thing about it.

**Q: Can this product be applied using a hand pump sprayer? What is the typical coverage area for 1 gallon?**
A: I used it to seal rocks on my pool waterfall and used a small brush because I didn't want overspray in my pool and I wanted to be sure that I didn't miss any spots.   This sealant is very watery and I believe it says you may use a pump sprayer.  I believe it would work in a handheld garden sprayer because it is a very thin watery substance.  I don't have the instructions but you can go to their website and read the product specifications.  I'm not sure how far the gallon would go but I put 2 coats on my waterfall and covered all the natural stone around my pool coping and still had 10-12 ounces left. I have a salt water pool, my husband talked with a company representative and recommended this product.  I've been pleased with the results so far.  Also, this product does not have any sheen to it and did not change the color or appearance of the stone, which is exactly what I wanted. Goodluck!

**Q: What is the difference between silioxa-tek 8500  vs. lithi-tec 9500 ?-tex**
A: Silica-tek 8500 is a repellent to protect masonry and concrete from water, chlorides and de-icing salt damage. Lithi-tek 9500 is a sealer/densifier used to strengthen concrete and seal it from water damage. It is not intended to be used to prevent de-icing salt damage. Hope this helps!

**Q: Does this product provide any slip resistance?**
A: No. If you get freezing rain in your area, it is VERY slippery and requires using sand. Don't use salt or any chemicals. You might ruin the protection.

**Q: what is the coverage when applied with roller**
A: Coverage is still similar at roughly 250 sq ft per gallon.  You may experience some difficulty with a roller being how thin a liquid this is vs a conventional paint.

This product is a winner; hope they don't change a thing about it.

Application was easy for a novice using a roller and went on even, covering my patio in two coats as instructed. So far has been good for water repellant and dirt cleanup, and did not change the color or sheen of my concrete. Would probably rate a 5 , just need to see how it goes after a few more months.
