You can change equipment on the hose while pressure washer is running.You can reduce the pressure at the tip on the fly.You can remove accessories and crack open the valve and let water flow so we do not do damage to the pump from over-heating.Downside. Adds a little weight.Plus side. When the gun is in the wrong position. turn the valve off. reposition gun and now we don't have to fight the hose.Last benni. All parts received - luckily.3 stars because of packaging. The packaging was a priority mail, thin cardboard envelope intended for documents not a 2.5 lb object . The envelope was damaged and the male quick connect fitting had fallen out of the package somewhere along the line. Fortunately for me, someone with the post office recognized this and the fitting remained with the package. Why package a really good product so terribly.
