I never turned in reverse and once I got comfortable with my lathe I don’t even tighten the set screws anymore. The longer the lathe runs the tighter it gets anyway **Q: what size screws should I get for these?** A: Any size that solidly holds your work will do. 1" x #8 would be pretty common.
