They are long and strong to hold shirts, sweaters, jackets,etc. The length is 18 inches long so the shirts that I hang on them actually fit the length of the shoulders of the shirt without leaving lumps. Most hangers that I have noticed don't go all the way to the end of the shoulder so part of the shoulder hangs below the hanger and that leaves lumps. These hangers don't do that. They are very strong and thicker so the wire doesn't bend when hanging a sweater on them. The color is a soft green mixed with gold tint.
