It doesn’t have the hard plastic feel that the older kiwi wax does. I applied 20 coats to the shined BRAND NEW DANNER BOOT in the photo and I got a great law enforcement spec shine, it should be noted I let the boot sit for 20 minutes before buffing with a boot buffing cloth. This brand performs MUCH better than the base black kiwi and is USA MADE which is always comforting. The best polish for a spit shine is Lincoln. If you want to achieve the ultimate spit shine, I recommend several coats (that is several spit shines on top of each other) with Kelly's "Lynn satin polish" (but not any of Kelly's other products) to a achieve a deep color. Then follow that with several coats of Lincoln. You'll notice that I didn't mention using Angelus. I rank it number three after Lincoln and Kelly's. But Angelus is still far better than Kiwi. **Q: Is this dark gray?** A: Hi Vicki, yes it is. Too dark for me, ruin a good pair of gray shoes I own; gave a 2 tone look, not sure if you can use it. A light gray would have been better for any type of shoe that is gray.
