If you have gas or a electrical burner, I…** A: I use a lid on all pots on glass top. Flat bottom or ridges. Boils faster. Glass tops suck unless you use heavy bottom pans. Thin bottoms don't heat the whole pot up fast enough. A lid holds the heat as the contents start warming. **Q: What is the diameter of the 20 quart pot?** A: This pot is only 11.75'' in diameter inside. 12.5'' outside (less handle) by 11'' hight inside. 20 qt pot. Why so much miss information I do not understand **Q: 20 quart - What is the height and diameter of the 20 quart pot?** A: Not counting the handles or lid. To the very top it is 11". Across the top it measures 12" inside diameter. (the sides are straight, so the inside bottom should be the same) This will be fine for dry goods. If you are filling it with a liquid, then it is 9" high, just below the bottom rivets. If you fill it above the rivets, it will leak. If you are going to boil water, I wouldn't fill it any higher than 8" max. **Q: Induction ready?** A: Mine is magnetic, so it COULD be OK for induction heating. And yes if I bought this at Williams Sonoma I would leave it 1 star for the build quality. But I got this for $20. You can't even get a potato peeler at one of those frou-frou places for $20. I bought this for making beer. So I use it only once every couple of months. Its perfect for that purpose.
