Was concerned as some said they received a piece not true to size, the one I received was as described. It was 16" long, the short edge was 14" widening to 16" (obviously not rectangular) which was sufficiently sized for my purposes. The thickness was exact at 1 5/8". There was a dark stripe across the middle (darkened center of the tree trunk) with a small knot on one side that would have interfered with the carving but it did not run through the whole thickness so I just used the other side which was clean.
