I love the clock - I have it set for the light to come on with chirping birds and a waterfall sound in the background...much nicer than a beep, beep, beep of a regular alarm clock... **Q: Does it work well in a small room overall??? I dont want something plugged in with an EMF field right next to my head. to find a battery gentle alarm clock is a huge bonus for me2) the size/weight: yes, its very light to the point of feeling almost "flimsy". however, that means I can travel with it, and as long as its not dropped or mishandled i dont see this being a problem3) no backlight-this means it is 100% dark at night, vs most of the other light alarms-very important to me since i have gone through ALOT of trouble to get my bedroom 100% dark at night.it is a bit complicated to set (i actually had to read the directions!), but i managed to get it to go off when i wanted on the first try so its not too bad. and yes, the buttons are tiny, hard to read, and not super intuitive. still, it is a joy for me to wake up to the light and gentle sounds vs. my loud and abrasive alarm clock. oh, and you can adjust how far ahead of the alarm the light comes on. i am experimenting to see what is best, so far the light is waking me before the alarm which is wonderful, though i wouldnt count on it. i am very pleased with this little clock for what it does. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth it *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2013* Not worth the money spent on this clock. Am not happy about not having a backlight, but can live without this feature. The for the cost of the clock ($50.00), I expected a larger and better built clock. Was very disappointed that there was no ac power adapter with this clock. I called the 800 number and was told could use batteries, but was thinking how many batteries it would take per year. I ordered the power adapter for $10.00 and was charged another $14.00 for shipping.
