Has nothing to do with your ears. Electronics, especially intricate small component devices that rely on clocks may need a little time to reach stability. This is not news, nor should it be controversial. **Q: are these the Newest version 2004+ with non-reversal polarity?** A: There was an issue with the original release of this product where the optical input had the L/R channels swapped. (It was not reversed-polarity). This has been fixed in new products, and can be fixed with a firmware update in older ones. **Q: Can i control the volume on the input side (wifi/bluetooth streamer, computer, etc.) or do i have to do it with the dac/amp/speakers?** A: I use both. I adjust my listening volume at my computer and use the volume control on my amp to set the range. **Q: Will work with denon pma 600 ne amplifier?** A: Absolutely. Just connect the L and R output from the E30 into any analog input on the amp (except phono). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great starter DAC and good enough for all but the most critical listening audiophiles *by S***N on November 9, 2020* Using this little guy on my main 2 channel audio system which is driven by a nice Yamaha A-S1200 integrated amp. I am very pleased with now the E30's smooth laid back sound pairs with my amp, which is similar. The volume can be cranked without ear fatigue. The E30 give me exactly what I want from a DAC, it does not color the sound adding highs or lows, it just accurately transmits it.The build quality of the unit is good, the case is metal and the unit has a bit of heft to it. The remote is inexpensive, but very functional - it is great to be able to switch inputs from USB to optical to Coax if you have multiple sources in your system. The display can be dimmed, which is nice. Even the orange color of the LED has grown on me - I prefer it to red or, God forbid, a piercing bright blue light.Do make sure to use the E30 in DAC mode, not preamp mode. The sound suffers a lot in preamp mode, it sounds dull. If you can adjust the volume, you are in preamp mode. DAC mode displays the input from your source.Yes, I suppose a high end $1,600 DAC is better than an E30, but the returns are greatly diminishing as one spends more than what an E30 costs. Even for a pretty decent critical listening audio system like I have, the E30 is quite handily "good enough". ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 100% worth weight in gold *by L***E on December 30, 2024* use for my main rig and tv/media consumption. Feeds three fosiaudio amps feeding three different pairs of speakers. why? all three tested "flat" and have characteristics that make my sound wide, detailed, and full to each note. Use for gaming as well as movie/streaming. Remote hasn't let me down. haven't blown my ears out yet from setting itself to 100% ever (thank you omfg). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent DAC, good remote volume control *by A***S on June 20, 2021* I wanted a remote volume control for my passive preamp. Read good reviews of the Topping E30 DAC (& preamp) and ordered one. After 40 hrs. I'm very satisfied with the purchase; other options were considerably more expensive. I use the DAC to hear music with my OPPO 103 ( sounds better than the internal DACs). In this set up, I control the volume manually in the passive preamp. It's musically superior to the preamp feature of the E30 (as has been described by other reviewers). I use the preamp feature to watch movies (DVD, stream) and easily control volume thru the included remote ( this is the reason I bought the DAC with its preamp feature). Voices are clear and good bass. Highly recommended, especially at its price point.
