It's got a handset that I can hang onto comfortably for a half hour without getting a cramp in my hand! The only downside is that I bought an extra-long red cord to substitute for the short one that came with the phone, and then discovered the cords are not interchangeable in this phone. I sent for another red phone that allowed another cord, but it had a hideous white ring where the pushbutton dial is, and it looked cheap--even though it was about the same price. So we're putting up with this phone and its short cord. However, there IS a solution. My husband attached the long cord to the end of the short cord with a little adapter. It isn't as pretty as a regular one-piece cord, but it works.)The pushbutton dial works fine; the buttons are easy to push and don't stick. The sound quality is no different from my old phone, which is fine. The ring tone is a blast--literally. But I like it! Even my hearing-impaired husband can hear it! Wow. He couldn't hear the other phone's electronic ring. But we kept that phone anyway because it has voice mail and caller I.D. So what we do when the phone rings is look at the old phone to check the caller I.D. and then pick up the red one if we want to talk. It works great. But the coolest, coolest thing about this phone is that it makes the tiniest musical chirpy one-second ring when you hand up the handset and, on this phone, at 22 past the hour round the clock.
